Dear Friends and Neighbors,
Welcome to the official campaign website for Mike Waters for District Attorney. I am running for District Attorney of Franklin, Granville, Vance & Warren Counties because I feel so strongly that we need new policies and a new philosophy to make the District Attorney’s Office more effective, efficient and fair.
In order for law enforcement to work for all the citizens a prosecutor must not simply seek a few easy convictions. The District Attorney’s Office must seek justice to make sure that wrongs are righted.
My goal is to make sure that law enforcement and the criminal justice system works for everyone.
I am uniquely qualified to face our community’s public safety problems head on. I have a broad range of experience both in and out of the courtroom.
I also know that changes need to be made in the District Attorney’s Office to establish priorities necessary to ensure that the worst offenders are targeted, tried and convicted.
Justice cannot be taken lightly. I will make sure the District Attorney’s Office takes each individual case on its own merits so that the worst offenders are singled out for the harshest punishment regardless of who they know or their station in life.
I will set public safety priorities to protect all of our citizens. The solution to our public safety crisis requires better cooperation between the DA’s Office and our other local, state, and federal agencies.
It all comes down to credibility. I promise every time I walk into a courtroom, I will be there to represent the people of this district in the most professional and most prepared way possible. I will deliver justice in a fair and unbiased way.
